Mark Long, DSW, MSW is an Adult Skills Provider, Service Facilitator, and Family Psychoeducation Specialist. Mark works with our first episode psychosis program, WINGS, which provides support to families and individuals experiencing psychosis and other mood disorders for the first time. Mark specializes in working with young adults and is a great resource for LGBTQ+ adults living with developmental and behavioral needs. Mark earned his doctorate in Social Work from Capella University in 2022. He studied the need for intersectional awareness, learning, resource sharing, and ongoing support for mental health professionals working with LGBTQ+ persons (specifically in Midwestern rural communities). Mark is also an adjunct professor and is training to become a therapist.
Mark served as a Board member for FLYY from 2020-2023. Mark has done program management & development, worked as a Director for the Upswing Fund at Panorama Global, served as Program Director at OutReach LGBTQ+ Center, managed college students at Milwaukee School of Engineering, and much more. Mark earned his Masters of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2017 and his Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. Mark aims to build resiliency among BBIPOC and LGBTQ+ young adults and their families. Mark does this by promoting safety and equal access to community resources, tools, and services. Mark aims to increase awareness, support, and understanding of LGBTQ+ identities for all persons seeking assistance.
