Psychotherapist / Trauma Specialist

Job Description: 

Forward Learning Youth & Young Adults (FLYY) is seeking a part-time or full-time Psychotherapist/Trauma Specialist with a passion for supporting youth and young adults. The ideal candidate will have experience in serving the LGBTQIA community and providing gender-affirming care to members of the transgender and nonbinary (TGNB) community.

Responsibilities include providing a continuum of mental health services to a diverse clinical population, primarily adolescents and adults with a history of trauma. This position requires a strong foundation in trauma-informed care and a willingness to be flexible and creative about therapeutic approach and treatment. The position requires some travel to clients in their home and/or in the community in and around Dane County as well as seeing clients in the FLYY office. There will be a mix of both community and office sessions from a variety of referral sources.  

Qualifications: 

A master’s degree in counseling, creative arts therapy, family therapy or social work and a valid Wisconsin clinical license. You must be fully licensed for this position and there are no exceptions for this qualification requirement. A training license will not be considered. 

Preferences: 

A therapist who is a self-motivated team-player and demonstrates excellent clinical judgment. A dynamic clinical approach that incorporates aspects of mindfulness, embodied processing, internal family systems, DBT, CBT, creative approaches, motivational interviewing, and a nature-based therapeutic modality. Strong background in clinical counseling, crisis work, and leadership roles with young adults. Eligible candidates must pass a Wisconsin caregiver background check and criminal history screening. 

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Valid Clinical License in WI (not a training license)
  • Willingness to travel to see clients in their home or in the community* 

Job Type:

One Part time or Full-time position is open. 

Hours:

20-30 hours (part-time) and 30-40 hours per week (full-time), Monday through Friday. Minimally billing clients 65% from total hours worked. Flexible schedule is important, particularly in after school hours, with the possibility of early evening hours. Bilingual in English/Spanish and being certified with the Dane County CCS program are a plus.

Compensation: 

Wages and benefits offered are based on experience and hours committed.
