Josh Peterson, LCSW (he/him) provides psychotherapy, skill development, and psychoeducation to youth, adults and families at FLYY and in the Wings first episode psychosis program. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northern Michigan University and his Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
With 20 years of experience in the mental health and substance use field, Josh has worked extensively as a case manager, psychotherapist, and clinical supervisor. Much of his career has focused on supporting individuals living with chronic and serious mental illness, including psychotic disorders.
Josh brings a client-centered, strengths-based approach to his work, striving to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, seen, and free to be themselves. While he has worked much of his career with those experiencing chronic, serious mental illness, he especially values the opportunity at FLYY to work with youth and families—helping them build skills and supports that can prevent long-term challenges and promote lasting well-being.
Outside of work, Josh enjoys playing board games and being silly with his family, watching pro wrestling and movies, playing video games, reading, and enjoying sunshine in the pool.
