OPEN POSITION: Part Time Psychotherapist
Job Description: FLYY (Forward Learning Youth & Young Adults) is seeking a part-time Psychotherapist/Trauma Specialist with a passion for supporting youth, young adults, and families.
Position Overview
At FLYY, we believe therapy is most effective when clinicians have the flexibility and creativity to meet clients where they are. As a therapist on our team, you’ll provide individual therapy to a diverse population of children, adolescents, young adults, and adults, many of whom have experienced trauma and are navigating complex life circumstances.
Your caseload will be thoughtfully developed based on your clinical interests, areas of expertise, licensure, and scope of practice, allowing you to build a practice that aligns with your professional strengths while meeting the needs of our community.
We are seeking clinicians with a strong foundation in trauma-informed care who are passionate about relationship-based treatment and are open to using creative, individualized approaches to support healing. Whether your style incorporates traditional talk therapy, expressive arts, movement, mindfulness, somatic interventions, or other evidence-based modalities, you’ll have the flexibility to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs.
While most therapy sessions take place in our welcoming Madison office, clinicians also have opportunities to provide services in clients’ homes and throughout the community across Dane County when clinically appropriate. This flexibility allows you to meet clients where they feel most comfortable and engaged.
Our office was intentionally designed to support innovative, client-centered therapy. In addition to private therapy offices, you’ll have access to a calming room, an art therapy space, and a large activity room filled with games, sensory materials, and movement-based resources that help engage children, adolescents, and young adults in meaningful ways.
FLYY serves clients through a variety of funding sources, including Quartz, GHC, Dean Health Plan, BadgerCare, and the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program, providing opportunities to work with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications: A master’s degree in counseling, creative arts therapy, family therapy or social work and a valid Wisconsin clinical license. You must be fully licensed for this position, and there are no exceptions for this qualification requirement. A training license will not be considered.
Preferences: A therapist who is a self-motivated team-player and demonstrates excellent clinical judgment. A dynamic clinical approach that incorporates aspects of mindfulness, embodied processing, internal family systems, play therapy, sand-tray therapy, art therapy DBT, CBT, creative approaches, motivational interviewing, and a nature-based therapeutic modality. Strong background in clinical counseling, crisis work, and leadership roles with youth and young adults. Eligible candidates must pass a Wisconsin caregiver background check and criminal history screening.

Job Type: Two Part time positions are open. After hire, FLYY will complete the credentialing processes with state and private insurance vendors before building your caseload. FLYY has multiple referrals on a waiting list and we will help manage our referral sources to help establish your caseload.
Hours: 15-20 hours (part-time), Monday through Friday. Flexible schedule is important, particularly in after school hours, with the possibility of early evening hours. Full caseloads can take time to build.
Compensation: We offer competitive compensation that is independent of insurance compensation rates. In addition, we compensate for non-billable administrative tasks, with an expectation that at least 65% of work hours are dedicated to billable client services. The current billable rate for commercial therapy is $66 per hour and the administrative rate falls within a range based on experience between $30-$35 per hour. Employees working between 20 to 30 hours per week can expect to earn a gross annual income ranging from $56,500 to $90,000, based on the number of billable hours per week.
